(BĐL) - Cách TP. Buôn Ma Thuột 50 km, khu bảo tồn thiên nhiên Nam Ka có hệ động thực vật phong phú, đa dạng, nhiều loài động thực vật quý hiếm. Nhưng những cánh rừng "vàng" này không tránh khỏi việc bị lâm tặc "dòm ngó". Chính vì vậy, lực lượng kiểm lâm  vẫn đang phải ngày đêm nỗ lực vượt qua khó khăn, thiếu thốn để tuần tra, kịp thời xử lý những hành vi xâm hại rừng. 

Địa hình ở đây phức tạp với nhiều dãy núi cao, suối sâu. Rừng Nam Ka có diện tích khoảng 20.390 ha (thuộc 2 huyện Lắk và Krông Ana, Đắk Lắk).
